Lightly Drifting

I finally got fed up with not gratifying my vintage needs in winter.  I decided I'd rather freeze happily than be morose and only slightly chilled.  So this little dress and cardi leaped from my closet, and my new petticoat decided to make its first appearance (out of sight...).

...except when I scandalously let it peek out for photos:

Naughty me.  ;)

Anyway, absolutely everything I'm wearing is thrifted!  Yay!
eco-responsibility + cuteness = WINNING

Anyway, I'm bravely putting up a picture of my profile.  I hate my profile, but, hey,
flaws are what make us unique, right?

And I'll leave you with that thought and a quick candid shot of me (thanks a lot, mom) searching frantically for my keys (my fabulous coat hopefully making up for the rest of my un-fabulous-ness):

So long, dear readers, from your
friendly neighborhood scatter-brain!
Love you!

Red, White and Cute

You'll have to pardon my silly faces and the lack of [creative] photos for this outfit...it was COLD! ...and mom was taking these photos of me right after church...is that blasphemous somehow?  lol  Sunday best!  You still get the gist of the look, right?

Love wearing same color shoes and tights!  Especially when they're my favorite color: RED!

The photo below is my "brrrr it's freakin' freezin'" face.  :-P

While rocking the side pony.  Like a boss.
(Well, a girl can dream, anyway.)

Don't worry: you'll see this dress again when it's warmer out!  It's the nicest little sweetheart neckline halter dress.  Usually I'm not a huge fan of tulle hanging out the bottom of a skirt, but on this dress it just works.

Sweater: Charlotte Russe || Tights: Wal*Mart || Shoes: Target || Dress: Goodwill || Bag: St. Vinnie's (I added the ribbon.) || Lipcolor: Revlon (love) || I'm also wearing an additional petticoat from Hot Topic

Brocade Babe

I've always loved brocade...It's so luxe and elegant...always makes me think medieval.  The medieval period has always been my favorite imagination playground.

This dress is a little big (and by "a little'" I mean...about 4 sizes), but it's so pretty, I had to have it when I found it at the thrift store!!!  :)  And I was determined to find a flattering way to style it.

Instead of heels, I rocked some fancy flats with this outfit.  I wanted to add a bit of hipster quirk to the look.

Found this lovely lady at the thrift store, too...
Wanted to show you all the whole dress, even though it's huge.

I Shop Secondhand First.

Lots of photos with my dog lately, I know, but she's just such a great costar!

This past weekend it was so warm that I wore a skirt this day, and shorts the other (post to come)!!!  All of us Wisconsinites couldn't believe it was November!  Buuuut our lovely state cured our doubt yesterday by snowing.
This is why I love good old WI: it always keeps me on my toes, I'll never be bored.

I love the colors I got to wear in this outfit...jewel tones are so rich and beautiful, and the pattern on this skirt is one of my favorites.  It's the same pattern my grandma has on some wallpaper in her house that I've always loved.
And this tweed hat is the first hat I ever thrifted.  I've had it for years.  It's definitely a man's hat, and very old, and I love it.

Hat: thrifted || Sweater: Target || Skirt: thrifted (orig. from Express) || Shoes: Target || Scarf: old || Bag: thrifted (Louis Vuitton) || Belt: H&M

Speaking of thrifting, I wanted to share a pledge I've recently taken.  I hope you, my dear readers, have all noticed the new widget on my sidebar.  Please, join me in taking the pledge below, if it's something on your heart.
This whole thing was started by Bella at the Citizen Rosebud, a wonderful blogger who has inspired me for quite awhile.  Check out her original post regarding this pledge and see how you can get involved!  :)
