Newcomers to the (Ef)Face: Check These Out!

This Dress

Not too much to say about this dress; It speaks enough for itself.

Some detail shots:

a zoom-in of the bag, since (for once) it was perfectly square to the camera
The puppy and I showing off our tails:

This dress was purchased from my favorite vintage shop.  They told me that originally it was a longer, gown-type dress, but one of their seamstresses cut it up and recreated it into this sweet little summer dress.  I am so lucky that I found it, and that it fit perfectly!

I'm so cool, I wear SUNGLASSES INDOORS.

Had a little too much fun with editing these photos...heehee  :)
I blame it on the fact that I was drinking a caffeinated beverage~~~~~which I never do.  So I was kinda bouncing off the walls!

I wanted to do a music festival type of look: comfortable, edgy, sexy.  Rocker-ish.

And what rocker-ish look would be complete without rockstar aviators?  I LOOOOOOVE my aviators!!!  Aviators are always fabulous and will never be an obsolete design!  I've had these for a few years, already, and love them just as much as when I first got them.

I did some fun makeup to accent my rocker-chic outfit: a matte red lip and black eyes.  I even took some brown eyeliner and accented the beauty mark above my lip (I really do have one!  It's just very faint...needs some help to be Monroe-esque.).

Who'd've thunk that grandma's old brooch would accent a rocker outfit?  Happy I can sport it in honor of her, though: RIP grandma.

my 'cowboy' boots = my failsafe footwear item

Need a moment to prop the band on my t-shirt: NEW MEDICINE.  Love their stuff; and they're fairly new to the scene (which means that their merch is really cheap right now, and when my hubby ordered this tee, he got some other free stuff, too).  The shirt has the title of their most successful sing on it, "Race You to the Bottom."  It's technically about alcohol, but in this case, we'll pretend it's talking about my iced coffee.  :)

Need another moment to prop the bands on the buttons I'm wearing, too: ATHEL and ONCE THE SUN.  Saw them last week with my friend, Emilee (photos to come of our AMAAAAAZING ensembles).  Talked to both the bands afterwards, actually (I felt all VIP and stuff).  Once the Sun is a local group (performing at Summerfest for the first time this year).  Lead vocalist is a [rocker] chick; look 'em up if you're into that kinda stuff.  ATHEL has a really unique sound: the singer has a nasally high tenor, but I actually really enjoyed them!  Good stuff.

I want to start off this post by saying how GRATEFUL I am for all the kindness and support I've been getting!  :)  A big THANKS to all my followers (both "official" and not) and to everyone else who stumbles across my lil corner of the blog-i-verse!

I know mini-skirts (pretty sure this one even qualifies as a MICRO-mini) aren't exactly in vogue right now, buuuut every once in awhile a girl just has a micro-mini kinda day.

My aunt worked in her garden a bit over the weekend.  Flowers are some of my favorite things in the whole world, so it makes me very happy!  And I'm not the only one, either: a beautiful little yellow bird has been hanging around by all the windows singing me songs, too.  How lucky am I?  I sing back to him sometimes, and feel a lot like Snow White.  No photos of my lil vibrantly-feathered friend (he's too darn quick!), but I also sort of made friends with the neighbor's cat, who was out for a hunting excursion while I took outfit photos:

I'm cracked up by the fact that this outfit is nerdy and sexy all at the same time!

I firmly believe in what I've termed "the Half-n-Half Rule:" which states that if you're showing off your legs, you better cover your...torso (...ahem...).  Balance it out, ladies, haha: if you're going tiny on the top, go big on the bottom and vice-versa (like, if you must wear a bralet, pair it with a longer, billowy skirt [not ripped up daisy dukes please], or if you're sporting "shortie" shorts, put them with a voluminous top and hat/scarf).  That rule usually keeps an outfit sexy but not skanky.

This scarf is one of the best things I've ever bought; I wear it ALL THE TIME (as I'm sure you've noticed in my past blog posts).

This ring was a gift from my brother-in-law.  He saw it at a garage sale and thought it was cool, so he bought it and gave it to me!  How sweet is that???  :-D  I know that the large stone is opal...One of my favorite books says opal is infused with protective magic. (So thanks especially, John, if you're reading this.)
Anyone else noticing that these wooden-heeled booties are, like, "THE THING" lately?  Sheesh...They're absolutely everywhere on Lookbook!

There was a little girl who had a little curl...

...Photoverload, if you will?

...Whatever.  Just prepare, and please forgive.  Even ENJOY, if you can.   :)

Check out my super-pretty new shoes!  I found them at my absolute favorite vintage store.

What a glamour-girl shot!  Never expected to get this by holding my bad camera out all

This outfit makes me feel so pretty, I couldn't help but take a million and one photos!
...of myself.
...'cuz I'm apparently a narcissist.

Hopefully a cute and sweet narcissist???

detail of the nifty folds I made

Went for some Kim Kardashian-like eyelashes...simply LOADS of mascara.

my mischievous "bunny" pose--at least, that's what it made me think of   :)

Anyway, if you've made it all the way down here to the bottom: YOU ARE SUCH A TROOPERI appreciate you.   :)

I don't have much to say about this outfit, really; I feel it speaks for itself (of sweetness and daintiness, and mild, ladylike things).  I like it.
