Remember my lovely little fascinator?  *sigh*  J'adore... 
My own family (one side) makes terrible fun of me and rolls their eyes, but strangers seem to love my hat as much as I do!  :)  Or maybe they just like the cajones it takes to wear feathers on one's head in the middle of the afternoon...either way.
I also love being able to wear fishnets in the middle of the day...these are backseamed, too.  Mmmm sexual...but not slutty! since they're layered over black tights.  (...right?)

Love love LOVE the texture of this stone brick wall...I need to remember this location: it's gorgeous and photographs ridiculously well!  (Even if I don't photograph as well...*sigh*)

Selfie...sorry...but it's the only photo where my layered tights/fishnets are discernable.

So I found this Vera Wang tunic at my local Goodwill (woo!) and layered it over a flirty, ruffly skirt to create a very 60s silhouette.  I looked in the mirror and was reminded the feather-trimmed LBD worn by Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's.  Yay!
And my necklace and bag are certainly Chanel-inspired.  Love them!

Pink Champagne puts a Feather in my Cap

I think we all know that I love me some glamour...

I wore this to my family's Thanksgiving party.  My hat was a big hit.  :)  Thanks for the inspiration, Anna Dello Russo!  Your fearless, fabulous example gives me the courage to put goofy things on my head, too!
I spent a long time on my makeup and used more than, like, the three products I usually use (concealer, eyeliner, & blush...woo fancy).  And I even curled my hair (I never do hair) so the hat would look its best.  I was INTO this look, people!!!

So, I've told you that my hometown offered some wonderful spots for photos...here's one right across the street from my building: the town's old train station.  They refurbished it into an office building, now, but left all its charm and a bit of the train track to boot! 
The next time I want to really pose some pictures, I'll have to find a steam machine and do some watery-eyed, retro, "farewell, lover"-type shots. heehee

I went shopping on Black Friday chiefly to get my paws on the above-pictured tennis bracelet.  I've always wanted one like that, buuut I didn't want to pay out the nose for my bling-bling.  And the sweater (that's so soft, it feels like bathing in pink champagne heaven a la Dita von Teese) was a bonus Black Friday find!

Mon Chapeau

How do you like my new hat and sweater?

This post goes back to what I do best.  Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week inspired me to dabble around a bit more in modern fashion, but vintage/classic style is always where I feel most safe and beautiful.

Instead of being my living room, can you join me, dear readers, in imagining my backdrop to instead be a charming Parisian alleyway?  That's the feeling I was trying to channel while I was taking these photos...just didn't have any charming Parisian alleyways available to me at the time.  ;)

...It's the luxe life for me!

I should say that it's the luxe life ON THE CHEAP.  This whole outfit cost me less than $50.00, I think.  That's including my makeup.  I mean, really, I got the hat for $8.00--that's just crazy talk--and the faux fur wrap was a gift.  Ahhhh thrifting...

*Sidenote:  I think I figured out why that hat had been marked down to so cheap in the second-hand shop.  It's a vintage designer hat, but you need to wear it tipped on an angle.  My guess is that no-one ever figured that out when they were trying it on and just put it on straight.  It looks dreadful when you just set it straight on top of your head, but it's absolute magic when you tilt it a bit!

Before we part ways for the weekend, I want to share some big news:
I am (and what I mean by "I am" is mostly "my hat is") going to be FEATURED ON ANOTHER BLOG.  I'm am so excited/flattered/honored/generally PUMPED about the invitation (it's my first)!

This is what I wore to dinner on Saturday night.  The hubby took me out to celebrate my birthday.  :)  As such, it was a prime opportunity to be ridiculously overdressed.

 And now, ladies and gentleman, I have a question to put to you all:

Upon my recent perusal of magazine pages, I came across an article which informed me that slits were making a comeback.  I personally think a slit is a much more generally friendly way to display some leg (rather than a micro-minidress or whatever), so I'm content with this movement.  The only qualm I have is that I'm afraid of looking trashy, and slits can sometimes do that.

What about your thoughts, dear readers, on this matter?
